HOW IS THE DECORATIVE CUSHION COVER MADE?
I often get the question: How do you make the cushion covers? Do you draw the image on the fabric? Is it a real photo ? Is it a screen printing?
First of all I draw the image with pencil on a piece of paper. When I am satisfied with the result, I make a line drawing with a fineliner and scan the line drawing on my computer. And than the real work begins, namely I color the drawing and edit the image in Photoshop. This is a very labour-intensive proces.
When the image is ready, I send the digital file to Print Unlimited BV, a company that produces on customer order exclusive design prints for the international fashion- and interior market. They print my file on a beautiful fabric: cotton Velvet Dublin, a velvety fabric. Only the birds are printed on Cotton Satin Deco, because that fabric fits better by birds.
After a ± 10 days I receive a large roll of fabric with all prints on it. And I cut them all out. Then I look at the prints for matching colors velvet fabric for the back and cut them too. After sewing the labels and zipper, I sew the parts together and the pillow case is ready!
